MONTREAL, Sept. 11, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Stationnement de Montréal announced today that P$ Mobile Service, the remote payment solution launched last June enabling users to pay for parking fees, has already logged over 100,000 transactions. Since its launch, its use has increased steadily each week.
"We've noticed that P$ Mobile Service is a big hit among motorists using on-street parking, said Charles Auger, General Manager of Stationnement de Montréal. To date, more than 42,000 people have downloaded the application. The amount of users and transactions should continue to grow in the wake of the major ad campaign we're launching just in time for the Fall season."
This ad campaign, designed in collaboration with TC Media and beginning on September 11, will be disseminated through various signage, print and television ads, as well as mobile applications.
"Stationnement de Montréal aimed to increase motorist satisfaction through a modern, alternative and reliable payment solution that blends perfectly with an urban lifestyle, said Charles Auger, General Manager of Stationnement de Montréal. Thanks to P$ Mobile Service, it appears we've hit the mark."
P$ Mobile Service
TC Media's mobile solutions team developed Stationnement de Montréal's remote payment solution. The P$ Mobile Service is available free of charge on iPhone, BlackBerry® and Android™ devices, as well as on the web, and its mobile version is available at pservicemobile.ca. Motorists can also download the application on their smartphones by scanning the QR code displayed on street-level parking meters.
This service enables users to pay for or renew their payment on their parking space from their smartphone or computer quickly and simply, without having to drop everything they're doing.
Using P$ Mobile Service is simple: the user must first create an account, then open a session and enter the appropriate parking space number and the desired parking period. The entire transaction takes but a few moments. Users will even have the option to be alerted about 15 minutes before their parking period expires, so that they may remotely renew it. A $0.40 service charge will be applied to each transaction to cover this new remote payment solution's development and operational costs, as well as ensure the service's maintenance and technological evolution.
