TORONTO, March 4, 2014 /CNW/ - On March 5, join Frontier College in celebrating the 10th year of Toronto's corporate crowd proving its spelling prowess at the SCRABBLE® Corporate Challenge. This massive tournament of spelling and strategy raises money and support for Frontier College, Canada's original literacy organization.
Leaders from Bay Street's banks and investment, technology, telecommunications, accounting and law firms vie for the coveted TMX Cup and the opportunity to open the Toronto Stock Exchange. The competition is serious and fierce. Who will play the highest scoring word? Who will get challenged for playing ZEMSTVO or QOPH? Will records be beaten?
Hosted by Sun TV's Pat Bolland, 55 teams will participate in the SCRABBLE® Corporate Challenge. Since 2005, the tournament has raised over 2 million dollars for Frontier College and its mission to improve literacy rates for children, youth and adults across Canada.

On Thursday, March 6, at 9:30 a.m., Frontier College President and CEO Sherry Campbell and Eric Sinclair, President of TMX Datalinx and Group Head of Information Services, TMX Group will be on hand to open the Toronto Stock Exchange with the winning team from the TMX SCRABBLE® Corporate Challenge.

For Market Openings: Media may pick up a feed from the TOC (television operations centre) for all market open ceremonies. The feed is named TSX Transmit 1 (SD-SDI) and is produced at the TMX Broadcast Centre and sent live to the Toronto TOC. Those featured in the market opening move into position for the market open ceremony at approximately 9:27 a.m. and the markets will open with the sound of a siren (the traditional market open on Toronto Stock Exchange) at 9:30 a.m.
