Pakistan gets its Mrs. Pakistan World 2013 - Farah Mahmood
TORONTO, Feb. 14, 2013 /CNW/ - Farah Mahmood has been appointed as the new Mrs. Pakistan World 2013. Mahmood hails from Lahore, Pakistan and has lived in Dubai as well as London, UK. Mahmood graduated in English Literature from Punjab University from Pakistan. She got married and has 4 beautiful children and now lives in Toronto, Canada.
As a fitness instructor, Farah used her time to develop herself both personally and professionally. She got into health and fitness, nutrition, and self-improvement and always had an eye for design as well as an artistic flair. Mahmood started her interior design business and managed to almost immediately start winning contracts, and successfully managed some major hotel refurbishment projects for local companies in Dubai.
Farah Mahmood has always been a strong advocate of the importance of women looking after themselves physically and mentally, and presenting themselves to the outside world as confident, ambitious and accomplished individuals. She has also supported charitable foundations related to improving the plight of Pakistani women on subjects like poverty, lack of empowerment and oppression.
On winning the title, Mahmood said, "I feel it is an honor to be Mrs. Pakistan World 2013, and also that it gives me a wonderful opportunity to communicate what I feel defines the mature Pakistani woman of today, whilst trying my best to remove some of the stigma attached to such titles."
Sonia Ahmed, the President of Mrs. Pakistan World announced, "Even though Pakistan is a country with both political and religious issues facing it almost everyday there is some hope left in these role models like Farah Mahmood, who give a voice to the forgotten women of Pakistan. I am proud to have her on board representing the married women of Pakistan. Farah Mahmood is now preparing for international pageants and I hope that Pakistan wins the title this year!"
Ahmed also added that Pakistani women are growing in all aspects around the world, and that the Mrs. Pakistan World pageant is a platform for many Pakistani women around the world, who want to get into the pageant industry, social work, politics, as well as entertainment industry.
