MONTREAL, Feb. 21, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The website congresmtl.com has received a makeover and now also features the most advanced technology standards available today. The Palais des congrès de Montréal team is proud to unveil a website thoroughly revamped based on visitors' profiles and their browsing preferences: an accessible, stimulating platform that now also includes a blog. These new features propel us to the forefront of the global convention centre industry.
"One of the major new features of our website is geolocation, a tool that enables us to market specific content according to region and also quickly guide visitors to content specifically intended for them. Visitors from New York or Paris will receive information tailored to them. And it is all compatible with the leading mobile devices," explains Chrystine Loriaux, the Palais des congrès de Montréal's Director of Marketing and Communications.
The textures and effects used forge a visual environment that is genuinely next-generation, with the visual elements clearly standing out from the background to create depth. The website also displays content based on the visitor's profile, whether he or she is a delegate attending an event, an event organizer or planner, a visitor, or even an event sponsor or exhibitor. The browsing experience has essentially been designed to meet the highest ergonomic and accessibility standards.
Launched as part of the Palais' ambitious IT modernization project, the website will also feature during the course of year a new e-commerce module for ordering products and services online and liaising with our event planning and management team. The second phase of the module, which will make interactive communication possible at all times, will enable organizers to plan the technical and budgetary aspects of their event. "More than ever before, the Palais will house a hi-tech environment clearly designed for productivity and the overall experience," mentions Élaine Legault, the Palais' Event Management Director.
A blog for sharing know-how
As the top host city in America for international events, Montréal and its convention centre are leading experts in their industry. Our new blog, intended for tourism and event planning enthusiasts as well as members of the city's key economic sectors, will provide yet another venue through which visitors can interact with the Palais' specialists, who welcome the opportunity to share their expertise. This initiative will further complement the communication efforts of the Palais, which is already quite active in social media.
About the Palais' new hi-tech environment
In 2012, we embarked on an IT modernization project aimed at further positioning the Palais among the leading e-friendly convention centres in North America, delivering hi-tech performance to convention-goers and event organizers.
Improvements and upgrades include:
- New dynamic signage spearheaded by 88 giant screens and a video wall, in addition to the static signage already in place;
- A state-of-the-art network infrastructure that allows for up to 20,000 wireless internet connections at once.
In 2013, users will also be able to enjoy these services:
- A mobile app that can be customized to each event;
- An event intelligence infrastructure that offers event organizers a wide array of statistical data on the activities and services their participants are availing themselves of.
