Paranormally Pleasant or Ghoulishly Gloomy? The Weather Network Releases Its Halloween Forecast Français
OAKVILLE, ON, Oct. 29, 2015 /CNW/ - With blustery conditions affecting much of Canada leading into this weekend's trick-or-treating festivities, The Weather Network has released its Halloween Forecast to help Canadians plan their costumes and evenings accordingly. Will Canadians be under a warm 'spell' or will Saturday's spooky adventures be haunted by howling winds?
"Fall tends to have the most changeable weather, making dressing your little goblins and superheroes a challenge," said Chris Scott, Chief Meteorologist at The Weather Network. "This Halloween will be no different, as conditions vary greatly across the country. Trick-or-treaters in British Columbia will likely need rain boots and jackets, whereas those out in Atlantic Canada may require adding a few extra layers to those costumes to keep warm."
Varying Weather Conditions Expected Across the Country
The key story nationwide is that conditions are dependent on one's location relative to the Great Lakes. Regions west of the Great Lakes, including British Columbia and the Prairies, can expect above seasonal temperatures, as can western Ontario. Eastern Ontario and regions east of the Great Lakes, including Quebec and Atlantic provinces, can anticipate below seasonal temperatures. Southern Ontario will remain near seasonal.
An active weather pattern continues through the weekend for British Columbia, resulting in a wet Halloween for much of the province. Conditions in Alberta will be similar to last year, while the Prairie can expect milder conditions. Moving further east, Ontario and Quebec will see near seasonal temperatures, though umbrellas would be a smart addition to costumes as scattered showers are possible. In Atlantic Canada, trick-or-treaters should put on a few extra layers as gusty winds and below seasonal temperatures will make for a chillier evening.
