Parents Rally to Stop Installation of Wifi in Peterborough Schools
PETERBOROUGH, ON, Oct. 20 /CNW/ - Parents gather tonight to protest the planned installation of WiFi in their children's schools.
"When they've installed WiFi in other schools children got sick," said Sheena Symington, one of the event organizers.
The local school board plans to install WiFi microwave transmitters in all of Peterborough's schools. Parents voiced their opposition last month but the Board ignored their warnings.
"If the school Board intends to install WiFi, even after they've been shown it's harmful to children, then they need parental consent," said Symington.
The event features a documentary exposing Health Canada for falsely claiming WiFi is proven to be safe for schools.
