Parliamentary Secretary Sherry Romanado visits The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre to deliver valentines to Veterans Français
OTTAWA, Feb. 14, 2017 /CNW/ - Today, Sherry Romanado, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, helped long-term care providers at the Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre deliver Valentine's Day cards to Veterans.
Parliamentary Secretary Romanado met with the staff and Veteran residents, handed out Valentine's and toured the facility.
The Valentines for Vets program at Veterans Affairs Canada invites Canadians to create special cards for Veterans in long-term care facilities across Canada. Every year, Veterans Affairs Canada receives thousands of handwritten cards–submitted by schools, individuals and organizations from every province in Canada–and distributes them at long-term care facilities in time for Valentine's Day.
The Valentines for Vets campaign is designed to bring joy to Veterans and remind them that Canadians are thankful for their service and sacrifice.
