Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister to Highlight Viola Desmond to Be Featured on New Bank Note

OTTAWA, Dec. 9, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister Celina Caesar-Chavannes, on behalf of Finance Minister Bill Morneau, will hold a local event to highlight Haligonian Viola Desmond as the first Canadian woman to be featured on a regularly circulating bank note.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister will be joined by Darrell Samson, Member of Parliament for Sackville–Preston–Chezzetcook, and Wanda Robson, Viola Desmond's sister.

The event is open to the media.
