Patients Unveil Video Hoping to Meet Raptors Star DeMar DeRozan
WHITBY, ON, March 28, 2018 /CNW/ - Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores) is proud to support a patient-led video and social media campaign lauding Toronto Raptors star DeMar DeRozan for sharing his personal struggle with depression.
Inspired by DeRozan's courage and honesty, this diverse group of patients banded together to create the #HopeT4DeMar social media campaign. The campaign and corresponding video pay tribute to DeRozan and ask others to join in and support their efforts to meet the inspirational basketball star so they can present him with his very own HOPE T-shirt.
Ontario Shores launched the HOPE T-shirt in 2014 after reaching out to people living with mental illness, their families, staff and the community to hear first-hand what words they felt inspired discovery, recovery and hope. The results were incorporated into the design of the T-shirt to carry the message forward and create conversations around mental illness.
The group is encouraging others to support their quest to present DeRozan with a HOPE T-shirt by sharing their video on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the using the hashtag #HopeT4Demar.
