TORONTO, July 22, 2013 /CNW/ - The Exchange Lab, today announced that Paula Gignac, a 2012 inductee to The Canadian Marketing Hall Of Legends and 17-year veteran of the Digital Marketing industry in Canada, will act as its new Global Chief Marketing Officer.
Gignac, who is acknowledged throughout the Canadian industry not only as a prominent "go-to" expert and thought-leader on Digital Sales + Marketing, but also as an entrepreneur and mentor capable of building high-performing teams and break-through Digital businesses, joins The Exchange Lab's deep and dynamic team of senior managers who have already guided the company to profitability, and a 300% growth in revenue over just the past year.
Gignac, whose previous work includes a recent eight years as President of IAB Canada, plus seven years as VP of Rogers Women's Group Of Websites -- is an award-winning author of Digital Marketing programs for clients as diverse as AirMiles, GlaxoSmithKline, Ford, Parmalat, Procter + Gamble and Hershey. She is also a global leader in education about all things Digital, with recent engagements across Canada, and in Kuwait and Qatar in the Middle East.
Gignac will report to James Aitken, The Exchange Lab's Global CEO, who has himself been at the forefront of a number of developments in Digital advertising over the past 15 years, including his involvement with the start-up and IPO of Avenue-A (inventors of the 1x1 pixel and attribution model still in use today), MediaBrokers Ad Network and Atlas DMT (both later acquired by Microsoft, with Atlas most recently acquired by Facebook).
"Paula's strengths and personal brand mirrors so much of what The Exchange Lab does and stands for, we think it's a really amazing fit," says Aitken. "For example, Paula is known throughout the Digital industry for her unbiased thought-leadership and unremitting focus on both finding out and communicating what works for clients, which dovetails perfectly with The Exchange Lab's media-agnostic and results-driven approach to empowering advertisers through applied advertising science. She's also highly-respected for baking problem-solving and innovative solutions into all of the businesses she builds, which echoes what the team does here, in both interpreting and immediately optimizing campaigns based on the data that we leverage in both local and global markets, so that clients can directly and quickly benefit from not only our leading-edge technology, but also the deep marketing expertise of our collective Exchange Lab team."
In the new role (effective immediately), Gignac will be responsible for defining and leading the company's global marketing objectives and strategy, while working hand in hand with both global and country general managers and marketing teams to localize and implement it. She will also act as a Global evangelist for The Exchange Lab as it launches new facets of its business and expands into new markets.
