Diversified Global Investment Services Firm to Provide Leading Investment Expertise and Implementation Support to Institutional Clients
WINNIPEG, CHICAGO and MONTREAL, Sept. 19, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Pavilion Financial Corporation announced today that it is uniting its legacy Brockhouse & Cooper Inc. and Stratford Advisory Group, Inc. subsidiaries under the umbrella "Pavilion" brand.
In doing so, Pavilion Financial Corporation underscored it is a diversified, global investment services firm providing leading investment expertise and implementation support to institutional clients and other investors.
"By integrating our businesses, some of which date as far back as 1968, melding best practices, and offering integrated services across the border, we are on track to make Pavilion one of North America's leading, employee-owned institutional investment advisory services firms," said Martin Weinberg, Pavilion founder and CEO. "We believe this approach, our enriched research offerings and expanded services will strongly differentiate Pavilion and provide a competitive advantage in an industry that is poised for substantial change," Weinberg added.
Under the new brand umbrella:
Weinberg and his management team - several of whom previously helped him grow Assante Corporation into one of Canada's largest non-bank owned financial advisory firms - have set an ambitious course to become one of the leading institutional investment advisory firms over the next several years.
Daniel Friedman, president and chief operating officer of Pavilion Financial Corporation, who has worked with Weinberg for many years including at Assante, said, "We bring clients the best of both worlds -- the capabilities of the large firms with the client service focus of the small boutiques."
To this end, Pavilion is building upon its already established dedicated research team to offer enhanced and specialized research both north and south of the border. At the same time, Pavilion is expanding its team in order to provide clients a growing range of specialized consulting, research, risk management and other discretionary or non-discretionary advisory services.
In this regard, earlier this year, J. Keith Mote, Jr. was hired to lead Pavilion Advisory Group. Keith comes to Pavilion with 15 years' experience, which includes being a partner with Mercer Investment Consulting. At Mercer, he served as business leader for the firm's endowment, foundation and healthcare practices. Before Mercer, Keith spent over 10 years with Hammond Associates, where he was Director of Consulting, responsible for overseeing the consulting staff and leading business development and client acquisition activities.
In addition, Pavilion is expanding its offering in both the U.S. and Canadian markets to include a full range of implemented solutions. These services include customized discretionary consulting, transition solutions, risk management strategies and other tailored investment strategies.
"Our growth model envisages introducing distinctive services and solutions, recruiting best-in-class talent, building state-of-the-art platforms and delivering nimble, differentiated and responsive service to our clients," Weinberg said.
