PCMag.com awards MTS top spot for Internet and Wireless data speeds
WINNIPEG, Sept. 23, 2014 /CNW/ - MTS's blazing-fast LTE wireless network retained its title as "the fastest and most reliable LTE network in Winnipeg" for the second year in a row according to PCMag.com. The website, which is known for its rigorous testing and reviews, also named MTS as the fastest Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the province earlier this month.
"To be recognized for our Internet and wireless data networks is very exciting," said MTS President Kelvin Shepherd. "These awards are a real testament to MTS's commitment to providing customers with the best overall user experience including lightning fast internet access at home or on the go."
With download speeds of up to 150 Mbps, MTS's 4G LTE wireless network offers ultra-fast and reliable connections, so users can download music, pictures and apps or stream movies in seconds on their mobile devices. From Winkler to Swan River, more than 850,000 Manitobans now have access to MTS's 4G LTE wireless network. MTS was the first to bring 4G LTE technology to Manitoba, and plans to cover more than 90 per cent of Manitoba's population with 4G LTE wireless service over the next five years.
MTS's premium fibre optic network, the MTS FiON® Network, offers customers ultra-fast high-speed Internet with upload speeds of up to 30 Mbps and download speeds of 250 Mbps. This service is available in the 14 communities where MTS has launched the MTS FiON Network.
