Pearson Canada Congratulates DreamBox Learning on Winning Parent Tested
Parent Approved Award
DreamBox Learning Tallies over 20 Awards in its First Year
TORONTO, July 9 /CNW/ - Today, the prestigious Parent Tested Parent Approved Award (PTPA) was bestowed on DreamBox Learning K-3 Math for its online learning program. The PTPA award is given to products that are judged as the highest quality, most appealing in their genre, and that offer the potential to raise student achievement a notch above others.
DreamBox Learning K-3 Math is distributed exclusively in Canada by Pearson Canada, Canada's largest educational publisher.
"We are honored that PTPA has recognized DreamBox Learning's commitment to innovation and learning," said Craig Featherstone, Mathematics Consultant with Pearson Canada. "The influential PTPA Award is a strong seal of approval and speaks volumes to parents about the quality and value of this product. All of this is instrumental in DreamBox Learning's ongoing effort to present kids with the opportunity to learn in a fun, creative and personalized manner, both in the classroom and at home."
DreamBox Learning K-3 Math is an online math program that provides effective differentiated and personalized instruction for students in kindergarten through grade three. Just like a good teacher, DreamBox Learning continually assesses what a child knows and then dynamically adapts the lessons, hints, level of difficulty, and engagement to meet that child's needs. With over 500 lessons and millions of possible adaptations, the program creates the experience that will best help that child learn. The K-3 math program was built on the DreamBox Learning platform, designed by world-class software engineers to create effective and individualized web-based instruction.
Equally of merit, DreamBox Learning is fun to play. As young students begin to learn important college-ready skills and concepts in Number Sense, Operations, and Algebra, they are kept engaged through high quality animations and an adventure game that has students find friends and missing objects. In addition, there are detailed online dashboards to help both teachers and parents monitor student progress. Parents receive regular newsletters with tips on how to further their child's learning at home.
In addition to the Parent Tested Parent Approved Award, DreamBox Learning K-3 Math has won 20 other accolades in 2009 including the Parents' Choice Small Screen & Website Award, the esteemed Golden Lamp Award for Technology Innovation and the Distinguished Achievement Award for Educational Toys and Games from the Association of Educational Publishers, and the 2010 BESSIE Award for Best Math Website.
