Pembina Pipeline invests $75,000 in volunteer fire departments
CALGARY, Oct. 10, 2013 /CNW/ - For the third year in a row, Pembina Pipeline Corporation announced plans to support volunteer fire departments in the Company's operating communities. This announcement is made in the spirit of Canada's Fire Prevention week - a nation-wide initiative aimed at raising fire safety awareness from October 7 - October 11, 2013.
This year, Pembina will invest a total of $75,000, which will be divided between 25 volunteer fire departments in communities across the Company's operations. Pembina's donation will support the purchase of new equipment and/or safety training.
"Safety and emergency response preparedness is a top priority for Pembina, and supporting volunteer fire departments is a natural fit," explains Martin Clough, Senior Manager, Safety, Security & ERP for Pembina Pipeline Corporation. "As a responsible operator, we are committed to helping ensure the volunteer departments in communities in which we operate have the resources they require to respond."
Pembina's community investment program supports non-profit and charitable organizations that are based in, or support, the communities where they operate. Within this framework, they focus investments on organizations that improve access to education, protect or preserve the environment, promote safety, create community space and encourage recreation and a healthy lifestyle.
