Perimeter Institute Launches Youth Video Contest for Chance to Attend
"Hawking at the Perimeter"
WATERLOO, ON, April 9 /CNW/ - Canada's Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics today announced a video contest to challenge youth to use their creative genius and, in 30 seconds or less, explain why "I Love Science" in a thought-provoking, inventive and entertaining manner. Two grand prize winners from across Canada will receive an all-expenses paid round trip to Perimeter Institute in Waterloo, Ontario, and be part of the "Hawking at the Perimeter" television special, featuring Professor Stephen Hawking, on June 20, 2010.
Contest Eligibility:
All Canadian students in grades 9 - 12 (CEGEP in Quebec), aged 14 - 19 and enrolled full-time in a Canadian public, private or home school are eligible to enter. Hawking at the Perimeter - PI & TVO Bring Stephen Hawking to Canadians
The winners will be acknowledged during a special outreach broadcast with Prof. Hawking, to air on TVO on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at 8pm EDT. In this TV presentation, the world's most famous living scientist, Prof. Hawking, will share numerous insights on space, time, matter, and information - plus his views on how science might shape our world. The TVO signal is accessible across Canada on Bell TV channel 265 or Shaw Direct/Star Choice channel 353. You will also find TVO on channel 2 via cable or over-the-air in most areas of Ontario (check local listings).
