Perley Rideau's First Report to the Community Now Available
OTTAWA, Sept. 5, 2012 /CNW/ - The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre recently release its first Report to the Community which covers the period January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011, as well as future plans.
This is an exciting time for Perley Rideau as we are in the midst of creating a Seniors' Village - a community of care. We have a long tradition of serving seniors and veterans with quality care, and we are now expanding programmes and services to other seniors in the community, including future Canadian Forces veterans.
"We are becoming much more than a long-term care home.", says Greg Fougere, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer at The Perley and Veterans' Health Centre. "We are well on our way to providing a wider range of care options and services to the community. We feel that this will enhance the quality of life for both."
In the last year, we have added assisted living services to close to 60 seniors in their own homes in the surrounding area. We are also in the midst of constructing two independent living seniors' apartments with the same access to assisted living services if needed, complemented by social and recreational activities, green spaces and a variety of amenities for the convenience of our tenants and residents.
This is a unique integration of programmes that serve the individual needs of seniors as they age. The end product will enrich the lives of our residents and new tenants and provide a unique hub model of a seniors' community that could be replicated elsewhere.
