Canadians have until June 20 to submit nominations for the Governor General's Awards in Commemoration of the Persons Case
OTTAWA, April 17, 2014 /CNW/ - The Call for Nominations for the 35th Annual Governor General's Awards in Commemoration of the Persons Case was launched today, on Equality Day, by Status of Women Canada. Each year, these awards recognize five individuals, including two youth, who have made outstanding contributions to the goal of equality for girls and women in Canada.
Canadians are encouraged to nominate candidates from all across Canada and from all walks of life. Past candidates have been academics, corporate leaders, volunteers, advocates and artists. While nominations are accepted all year, the deadline for nominating someone for the 2014 awards is June 20.
