Peter Dey joins Griffiths Energy International Inc.'s Board of Directors

CALGARY, March 13, 2013 /CNW/ - Griffiths Energy International Inc. ("Griffiths Energy" or "the Company") announced today that Peter Dey joined its Board of Directors. Mr. Dey has been actively involved in governance reform in Canada and internationally and has assumed the role of Chair of the Company's Governance Committee.

Mr. Dey is the Chair of Paradigm Capital Inc., an independent Toronto-based investment dealer. He was Chair of Africa-focused, Calgary-based Addax Petroleum Corp. when Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corporation acquired it for $8.3 billion in 2009. Mr. Dey is a former Chair of the Ontario Securities Commission and has served as Chair of the investment dealer Morgan Stanley Canada, and as Senior Partner of the Canadian law firm Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP.

In 1994, Mr. Dey chaired the Toronto Stock Exchange Committee on Corporate Governance, and has since been involved with developing global corporate governance standards as Chairman of the Private Sector Advisory Group of the Global Corporate Governance Forum. Mr. Dey is also a director of Vancouver-based GoldCorp Inc., one of the world's fastest growing senior gold producers, Granite REIT and Enablence Technologies.

Mr. Dey holds a Masters of Laws degree from Harvard University, a Bachelor of Laws degree from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Queen's University.
