TORONTO, Nov. 14, 2013 /CNW/ - The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair announced today the appointment of Peter Hohenadel as Director, Agriculture and Food. "Agriculture has been the driving force of The Royal for more than 90 years," says Sandra Banks, CEO of The Royal. "We're thrilled to have someone of Peter's experience and expertise on our team."
An agriculture graduate of the University of Guelph, Peter Hohenadel has worked as a farm journalist and an advertising agency practitioner. His career in agriculture has brought him into contact with leading agri-businesses and farmers across Canada.
"Pride in achievement and community spirit have always been central to Canadian farming," says Hohenadel. "For generations, The Royal has been the place where Canadian farm families and businesses gather to celebrate the best in farming and food. I'm happy to be involved in recognizing those achievements and supporting that community."
As Director, Agriculture and Food, Peter Hohenadel will work with Royal staff and volunteers to ensure the Royal's many agricultural competitions attract the very best in Canadian livestock and crops. Peter will continue to develop partnerships and exhibits that tell the story of how food is produced and consumed, from farm to table.
"The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is Canada's leader in showcasing Canadian agriculture, food and equine excellence," adds Royal CEO Sandra Banks. "With a strong team and committed volunteers, we're uniquely equipped to connect farm and city people on the subject of food and agriculture."
The 92nd Royal Agricultural Winter Fair runs November 7-16, 2014 in the Direct Energy Centre and Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto. Visit royalfair.org for more information.
