Peyto Energy Trust Announces Closing of $74.9 Million Equity Offering

CALGARY, April 27 /CNW/ - Peyto Energy Trust (the "Trust") (TSX: PEY.UN) is pleased to announce that it has closed its previously announced offering of 5,566,000 trust units on a bought deal basis (including 726,000 trust units issued pursuant to the exercise in full of the over-allotment option granted to the underwriters) at a price of $13.45 per trust unit, for total gross proceeds of approximately $74.9 million. The syndicate of underwriters was led by BMO Capital Markets and included CIBC World Markets Inc., Peters & Co. Limited, RBC Capital Markets, FirstEnergy Capital Corp., Haywood Securities Inc., HSBC Securities (Canada) Inc. and Thomas Weisel Partners Canada Inc.
Net proceeds from the offering will initially be used to partially repay outstanding bank debt, thereby freeing up borrowing capacity which may be used to fund a portion of the Trust's remaining 2010 capital program and for general trust purposes.
