Canadian actress Nia Vardalos to host inaugural awards ceremony in
Toronto, recognizing top editorial and creative talent in the Canadian

/CNW/ - P&G Beauty announces the creation of the first-ever Canadian P&G Beauty Awards to acknowledge excellence and promote talent in the Canadian beauty, grooming and fashion industry. Specifically, the awards will recognize the exceptional editorial work that brings beauty, grooming and fashion news to Canadian readers as well as top make-up artists, hair stylists, photographers and models that bring these beauty and fashion stories to life.
Following a nation-wide call for entries in
July 2009
, over 200 submissions have been received across 12 categories with representation from many of Canada's leading publications, websites and blogs. The awards will be presented at an event hosted by Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated Canadian screenwriter and actress Nia Vardalos. The high-style cocktail event will be held at The Carlu in
