PharmaChoice West and Providen announce Joint Venture to Provide Central Fill to Western Canada

SASKATOON, Dec. 1, 2015 /CNW/ - PharmaChoice West and Providen Pharmacy Logistics today announced a joint venture to provide a total systems approach to integrated central fill support services for independent pharmacies under the PharmaChoice banner in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.

"Our plan is to launch a new central fill site located in Calgary, Alberta," says Grady Brown, CEO, PharmaChoice West.  "The goal is to help ease the burden of dispensing for the community pharmacies and to free up time for new expanded practice clinical services."  The central fill facility will provide the membership with the tools to proactively synchronize and refill prescriptions along with centralized prescription assembly, product verification, packaging, delivery and/or toting filled prescriptions back to pharmacies for patient pickup.

As part of this central fill initiative, PharmaChoice is also launching MedSync, a revolutionary clinical pharmacy program designed to assist in increasing patient adherence to chronic medications.  PharmaChoice anticipates that the Calgary central fill facility will be operational the spring of 2016.
