Pharmacist and Former University Researcher Opens Great Clips Salons In Edmonton and Beaumont

Arul Kandasamy hopes to bring new jobs and affordable convenient haircare to the community by opening the first two walk-in salons in the Edmonton area

EDMONTON, Feb. 7, 2019 /CNW/ - Local pharmacist and former University researcher Arul Kandasamy will celebrate the opening of his second Great Clips salon in Beaumont, Alta. On Feb. 9,2019. The salon brings affordable, convenient hair services to the Beaumont community and jobs to the area's residents. Arul, who recently opened his first Great Clips in November 2018 in the Chapelle neighborhood of Southwest Edmonton, is excited to open his second Great Clips in the diverse, well-connected community of Beaumont.

Having left his former occupation of six years as a biomedical researcher at the University of Alberta, Arul desired a role that would allow him to interact with his customers. He obtained his MBA and became a pharmacist in 2013. After seven years, he opened his own pharmacy in the Edmonton metro, where he now found an opportunity to bring a great haircutting service to the area.

On Feb. 9, the new Great Clips location at 6410 50th St. will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony with the City of Beaumont and its mayor to welcome the business to the community, one in which Arul and his wife have come to admire. Originally from India, Arul and his wife have been Edmonton residents for 11 years and have grown to love the area and are passionate about giving back through community participation.
