MONTREAL, Oct. 4, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The excitement surrounding the District Griffin project shows no signs of abating. Less than one year after Phase 1 went on sale, the developers are launching Phase 4. The vision of partners Devimco and Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ is still right on the money with this important multi-service complex that will define the backdrop of the Griffintown neighbourhood.
"People aren't just looking for a roof over their heads, they're looking for a lifestyle. They don't want to just live someplace, they want to be able to call it home, and that's where District Griffin comes in," explained Devimco president Serge Goulet. "Our development is breathing new life into a neighbourhood with a rich history by creating a vibrant neighbourhood where services, offices, leisure activities and entertainment are just around the corner."
"This fourth phase further substantiates the relevance of our urban development vision. District Griffin is a massive project with great economic spinoffs. Not only will this project create an entire neighbourhood, it will also have generated and protected over 3,200 jobs, which is wonderful," added Normand Bélanger, President and CEO of the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ.
A dream within reach
Located just minutes from downtown, District Griffin Phase 4 offers the ultimate hip lifestyle, including unbeatable views of downtown Montréal and Mount Royal, a grocery store and drugstore right inside the building and an urban chalet with a sports centre, lounge, outdoor fireplace and whirlpool. What's more, the chalet will lead to the largest green roof in Montréal where residents can relax in a hammock surrounded by trees, plant an herb garden or play pétanque. The icing on the cake will be a rooftop pool in the 18-story tower and two BBQ areas offering a breathtaking vista of the city below.
Located along the Lachine Canal, at the corner of Peel and Ottawa Streets, Phase 4 will consist of 139 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom units, starting at $168,000. Delivery is scheduled for fall 2015.
District Griffin Phase 5 is already on the drawing board and represents a $750 million investment.
