MONTREAL, Nov. 6, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Mr. Philippe Couillard, Leader of the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP), will run in the Outremont riding for the byelection.
"Since October 2012 I have been touring the different regions of Quebec to meet people and gain a better understanding of their needs and concerns. Now, after a 110,000 km journey during which I met thousands of Quebecers, the time has come for me to sit at the National Assembly to defend the interests of all Quebecers and take the PQ government to task. I know the riding of Outremont very well, and promise to represent its citizens to the best of my ability," Mr. Couillard explained.
Philippe Couillard was born in Outremont and went to school at Collège Stanislas. He also studied at the Université de Montréal, where earned a Doctorate in Medicine in 1979 and a diploma in neurosurgery in 1985.
"For more than a year, the PQ government has driven down the economy and divided the people of Quebec in order to further its political agenda. At the upcoming byelection, the people of Outremont will have the opportunity to send a clear message to the PQ government: Quebec is facing an impasse; it's time to present Quebecers with a new vision", the QLP Leader concluded.
