INTERVIEW JOE ROBERTS AND OPP COMMISSIONER VINCE HAWKES ON
THE PUSH FOR CHANGE
THE BLUE MOUNTAINS, ON, April 4, 2016 /CNW/ - Members of the media are invited to hear Joe Roberts – once a homeless heroin addict pushing a shopping cart around Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, today the Executive Director of a national youth empowerment campaign – share his inspiring story of how a desperate call to police changed his life. Participants will also hear from OPP Constable (Retired) Scott MacLeod who responded to the call.
The session will be part of The Push for Change: A Two-Day Mental Health Symposium – Our People, Our Communities taking place in the Town of The Blue Mountains on April 12 – 13. One-on-one interviews will be available with Joe Roberts and Constable (Retired) Scott MacLeod following their presentation. OPP Commissioner J.V.N. (Vince) Hawkes will also be available.
Interested members of the media must inform the media contact below of their intention to attend the session in advance. They should proceed to the conference registration desk to receive a badge that will grant them access to the session. All other symposium sessions are closed to the media, but the organizers will be pleased to discuss the symposium goals with any interested journalist.
