MONTREAL, Nov. 12, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - A team of volunteers will be packing Emergency Physician Travel Packs on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013. The packs are being prepared to go to the Philippines as part of HPIC's Medical Relief for the Philippines.
"Experience tells us that the essential medicine contained in the PTPs is what is most needed in emergency situations," said Wes Robinson, HPIC's Director of Emergency Relief. "The packs are like portable clinics and can be easily carried to places where roads are not accessible."
The first 10 Emergency Physician Travel Packs for the Philippines will be picked up on Friday, Nov 15. In total the volunteers will be packing 40 PTPs on Wednesday or enough mobile medical kits to provide 24,000 treatments.
HPIC is actively raising funds for relief efforts. Your $1 donated to HPIC will:
- Provide at least $10 of essential medicine
- Generate another $1 in emergency relief through the Canadian Government Matching Program until Dec. 9 (http://bit.ly/1a1HQnd)
