Pieridae Energy receives non-FTA export authorization

HALIFAX, Feb. 8, 2016 /CNW/ - Pieridae Energy (Canada) Ltd. and its operating subsidiary corporations (Pieridae) continue to meet major milestones with their proposed Goldboro LNG processing facility. On February 5, 2016, Pieridae received its Non-Free Trade Export authorization from the US Department of Energy. This authorization allows US sourced natural gas to be exported as LNG to countries which do not have a free trade agreement with the United States. This authorization supplements the Free Trade Export authorization which Pieridae received from the US Department of Energy in 2015 allowing the export of US sourced natural gas to Canada and other countries with which the United States has entered into a free trade agreement.

These US Free Trade and US Non-Free Trade authorizations, combined with the National Energy Board of Canada permits to import US sourced natural gas to Canada and export natural gas as LNG from Canada, will allow the Goldboro LNG project to serve substantially all global LNG markets. It will also allow Pieridae to more efficiently manage gas supply feedstock for LNG deliveries to Western and Southern Europe, where its primary customer Uniper Global Commodities S.E. (formerly E.ON Global Commodities S.E.), has its base of operations.
