PIERREFONDS-ROXBORO, QC, June 28, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canada Day Parade is cancelled this Sunday, July 1, due to the extreme heat wave announced by Environment Canada.
"This decision was made as a precautionary measure for the health and safety of participants, spectators and employees who were to attend the event. The route of more than 4 km, which takes about two hours on foot, would have been too intense and even dangerous under the circumstances. " said Borough Mayor Dimitrios (Jim) Beis.
The parade was set to start at Riverdale High School at 10 a.m., to end at the Borough Hall around noon.
