TORONTO, July 4, 2014 /CNW/ - Justin Adam, ex-professional baseball player for Kansas City and Ani Castillo, celebrated mexican artist and cartoonist met in Vancouver 8 years ago. Since then they've contributed to help build and grow a multitude of organizations and brands. Now they're founding an innovative creative agency MINIATURE MASSIVE, based in Toronto Ontario.
The main focus of their agency will be bringing visibility to leaders of change, technology creators, educators, the arts, community initiatives and sustainable developers. They'll also offer Social Impact Consultation to companies looking to boost and bring visibility to the most socially beneficial aspect of their company or product.
"Advertising is a very powerful language" says Adam "and we are determined to use it in a positive way. We believe in respect and doing what feels right. We can turn this ship around... and beyond that, we are speaking to a more knowledgable public - people are discovering that being responsible is good for business."
A megaphone for the unheard of.
Miniature Massive is based on the notion that big movements begin with an idea, and when people contribute - the effect becomes exponential.
"A major thing I took with me from my career as an athlete is the importance of teamwork" says Adam, whom after getting twice critically injured, shifted his attention to filmmaking. His first short film "The Man with the DV Cam" went on to win the audience prize for best experimental short at the Brooklyn Film Festival. "Working as a unit towards a singular goal can be an almighty force. In creative endeavours, collaboration gives us a broader understanding of the problem at hand, and a greater ability to solve it."
"We're connected to each other" adds Castillo, whose full spread existentialist cartoon has been running for almost a decade in one of Mexico's most influential newspapers. "We're in the midst of an universal awakening and feel terribly guilty about the way we've been doing things in the past. As a society we're itching to be better, to do better, to feel better. We're being more selective about which initiatives we support. If I'm giving you my money, your values better be connected to mine!"
