MONTREAL, May 14, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Pivotal Payments, Canada's largest independent payment processor, today announced that it will be donating use of payment terminals and card acceptance services to the Canadian SPCA at the Paws 4 A Cause fundraising event, taking place on Friday, May 18th at the Wave Conference Center in Complexe Dompark. The event will raise money to support the emergency shelter of the SPCA so they can continue to rescue and rehabilitate endangered animals.
Pivotal Payments will be providing, free of charge, the necessary equipment and payment processing solutions in order for the SPCA to accept debit and credit cards during the event. "Pivotal Payments looks at various ways of giving back to the community, not only through monetary contributions, but through our employee volunteers and the donation of our products and services," said Philip Fayer, President and CEO, Pivotal Payments. "We believe this to be a worthy cause to align ourselves with, and our expertise in charity payments and payment processing in general can help the SPCA raise more funds than they could have otherwise."
Pivotal Payments regularly provides free merchant processing services at events hosted by local nonprofit organizations, not-for-profits and charities, and offers reduced rates on an ongoing basis. The company also offers an online donation suite, which facilitates fundraising by allowing charitable organizations to accept credit cards online, securely and conveniently. The service includes a secure hosted payment page, real-time reporting and electronic tax receipts that are automatically emailed to donors.
"The goal of Paws 4 A Cause is to raise money and spread awareness about the SPCA E-Shelter so that we can continue to serve society's most disadvantaged animals," said Anthony Johnson, Director of Development, SPCA Montreal. "We are grateful that Pivotal Payments is providing us the means of accepting credit cards at the event, as it makes it more convenient for attendees to donate and helps further our cause."
Tickets for the event are $75 and include an open bar and food. The event begins at 8:30 p.m. at Complexe Dompark, located at 5524 St. Patrick, on the Lachine Canal waterfront.
