The iconic Ivanhoé Cambridge building to be showcased
Launch of the Christmas Market on the esplanade and inauguration of a photo exhibition
MONTREAL, Dec. 6, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Beginning at 6 p.m. this evening, Montrealers and visitors will notice that one of downtown Montreal's most emblematic buildings will be lit up every night. Designed by the artisans at Ombrage in collaboration with Sid Lee Architecture, this special lighting production will showcase the building's crown and main entrances. The unique and distinctive lighting will also mark the passing of each hour with a pulse of light and shadows. The idea is to celebrate Montreal on its 375th anniversary — and far beyond. The lighting will respect Place Ville Marie's traditional simplicity and elegance, while also celebrating its modernity.
Also starting this evening, visitors and tenants will be able to enjoy the annual outdoor Christmas Market and discover the new photo exhibition MONTRÉAL SON ÂME, SON CHARME (Montreal: its soul, its charm).
Bernard Poliquin, Senior Vice President, Office – Quebec, Ivanhoé Cambridge commented: "Elegantly, and with respect for its surroundings, this special lighting will evolve over time and accentuate Place Ville Marie's distinctive architectural elements. This is yet another initiative in our plan for the downtown core, with Place Ville Marie as the centrepiece. At Ivanhoé Cambridge, we are extremely proud to play a leadership role in revitalizing our downtown core. We made this the heart of our investment plan over several years and we hope it will also enable all Montrealers and visitors to experience some memorable moments."
