PMI-Montreal's Fourth Annual Symposium on Project Management - From the Transformation of Media to the Migration of Patients towards the MUHC Français
MONTREAL, Sept. 17, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - PMI-Montreal, the professional association of project managers in Quebec, will hold its 4th annual Symposium on September 26 at the Centre Mont-Royal. More than twenty speakers will cover the challenges and issues associated with several major projects in areas such as the media, health, company mergers, energy and cultural events.
Mr. Dany Harrison, General Manager, Radio-Canada Productions, will open the Symposium with a conference entitled: "Media industry - a transformation challenge." Participants will then be able to choose between four conference blocks dealing with major project management themes, namely risk, stakeholders, change and innovation. Each session will be hosted by an expert and will aim to encourage the sharing of knowledge and to stimulate reflection.
For example, participants will be able to discover how CGI managed to integrate the 36,000 employees from Logica following the merger of the two companies, thus doubling its workforce, and how Human Resources contributed to the success of the merger. They will also discover how the migration of patients towards the new MUHC will be carried out and what the profile of the "Creative Leader" is.
Benoît Lalonde, President of PMI-Montreal, pointed out that "We have developed an expertise in Quebec that is recognized worldwide in matters of project management and our fourth Symposium will provide an opportunity to showcase the knowhow of our local professionals. Project Management is not summed up by working practices and by procedures. Above all else it is a way of increasing cooperation and communication, improving the decision making process and generating benefits. With the current context, companies are calling upon the services of professionals more and more."
