POLICE CONTINUE TO SEARCH FOR MISSING ORANGEVILLE WOMAN UPDATE - DRIVER OF
VAN IDENTIFIED
ORANGEVILLE, ON, Sept. 1 /CNW/ - This afternoon, a media conference was held at the Headquarters of the Orangeville Police Service updating the media with respect to the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Sonia VARASCHIN.
A video was released at this time which identified a van in question that investigators believed was being operated by someone who may have seen Sonia VARASCHIN'S white Toyota Corolla that was left in the Alexander Park area on Broadway in the Town of Orangeville.
After the appeal was made for the driver to come forward, investigators received a telephone call and police have since spoken with him.
Unfortunately the driver did not see anything that could have helped the investigation and police thank the driver for coming forward so promptly. The investigation into the disappearance of Sonia VARASCHIN is continuing under the direction of Detective Inspector Mark Pritchard of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
Sonia VARASCHIN is described as being approximately 5'1" tall, 125 lbs and brown hair with lighter coloured streaks.
