Every year the World Vision Gift Catalogue and Ipsos Reid poll Canadians across the country to get the pulse of what to expect in the holiday season ahead. Trending this year is the importance of helping others, while Canadians report an increasing frustration with an overly commercialized season and the pressure of gift giving.

Most Canadians, nine out of ten, feel that Christmas is becoming too commercial.

And 86% of Canadians say Christmas is about helping those in need; in fact we've seen a jump in the number of people intending to give to charity or give charitable gifts.
