Porter Airlines January load factor up 4 points

TORONTO, Feb. 6, 2012 /CNW/ - Porter Airlines had a record January load factor of 55.7 per cent, 4 points higher than the previous year.

January results show 111.6 million Available Seat Miles (ASMs) and 62.2 million Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs).  ASMs increased 31 per cent from 85.2 million and RPMs grew 41 per cent compared to 44.1 million last year.

"It is nice to see 2012 begin with strong growth," said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. "As business travel is typically reduced at the beginning of the calendar year, we are able to supplement our schedule with leisure destinations such as Mont Tremblant and Vermont. These are very popular and help to produce positive numbers."
