Porter FBO reaches agreement with facilities, cleaning staff
TORONTO, April 8, 2013 /CNW/ - Porter FBO Limited has agreed to an initial contract with 44 team members who provide facilities and cleaning services for Porter properties at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. The group is represented by the National Organized Workers (NOW) union.
A contract has been ratified by members, with 88 per cent voting in favour.
"This agreement is the result of a commitment to negotiating by both sides," said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter FBO Limited. "Everyone involved deserves credit for resolving from the outset to find a fair and reasonable agreement, while defusing the possibility of a strike or lockout."
This agreement is unrelated to the ongoing strike by fuellers and customer service representatives, who are also part of Porter FBO Limited. This group is represented by the Canadian Office and Professional Employees (COPE) union.
