PortsToronto's Sail-In Cinema Returns to Sugar Beach August 10 and 11 and Ups the Viewing Experience with HD Français
TORONTO, May 3, 2018 /CNW/ - PortsToronto is pleased to announce the return of Sail-In Cinema to Sugar Beach August 10-11, 2018. This year's event will take place over two action-packed nights and features a new state-of-the-art cinematic experience.
For the first time, Sail-In Cinema will use a double-sided, high definition LED digital screen and custom-configured audio system. Movies will be shown on a screen nearly two-storeys tall and anchored to a barge floating in Lake Ontario, giving audiences the unique opportunity to watch their favourite films by land or by boat.
This year's theme looks at life outside the ordinary with movies based on the idea of adventure "In Other Worlds". Once again, movie fans will be able to determine the movies presented at the festival by voting from a shortlist of 10 films to be announced soon. Voting will open May 16 and will determine the two films that will be screened. Updates and announcements will be available at SailInCinema.com and on PortsToronto's Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
"PortsToronto is pleased to once again invite the community down to the lake to enjoy their favourite movies on the waterfront — and this year promises to be an even greater experience with the introduction of new HD digital LED screens that will elevate the movie-viewing experience," said Deborah Wilson, Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs. "Last year's event attracted more than 11,500 people on land and by boat, and we are thrilled to see this great community event become a summer tradition as families continue to return to the water's edge each year for a night of festivities, water displays, music, free treats – and, of course, film."
PortsToronto is pleased to have new and returning partners this year including Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, Redpath Sugar, Porter and CTV, and welcomes our new sponsor Menkes.
