TORONTO, July 5 /CNW/ - This evening, Hydro One confirms a power outage impacting downtown Toronto and equipment on fire at the Manby Transformer Station located on Kipling Avenue. The outage commenced at 4:42 p.m. The cause of the outage is currently under investigation. There are no injuries or health and safety issues reported due to the incident.
Emergency services are on site extinguishing the fire. Hydro One crews are at the station investigating the cause of the outage and take steps to restore power. The estimated time of power restoration will be known once crews can determine what specific actions are required to restore power.
