Power outages continue throughout the night as Toronto Hydro works to stabilize the system and restore power to our customers
TORONTO, March 4, 2015 /CNW/ - Late this afternoon, the GTA was hit by a winter weather event that brought an accumulation of snow, freezing rain and then rain. While the weather has now passed through our area, multiple power outages continue as crews address issues such as distribution system pole fires and intermittent Hydro One Networks Inc. (HONI) transmission supply issues. Until the transmission supply system stabilizes and we've been able to conduct a thorough damage assessment, it will be difficult to establish accurate restoration times.
Toronto Hydro have extra crews working throughout the night to deal with the high number of power outages and will focus on restoring as many customers as possible by morning. However, outages requiring more extensive repair work may take until tomorrow afternoon to be restored.
Please be reminded to stay well clear of downed power lines.
Report outages by calling 416-542-8000 or online www.outageTO.com.
