OTTAWA, Oct. 26, 2012 /CNW/ - This weekend as 1000 youth gather at the Powershift convergence to build a climate and economic justice movement to take on corporations and the federal government for fueling climate change, they will be joined by keynote speakers Naomi Klein (author of "Shock Doctrine"), Bill McKibben (founder of 350.org), and Winona LaDuke (Co-Director of Honor the Earth), who will be available for media interviews.
On Monday, a mass "Toxic Trick or Treat" march will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Parliament Hill and move past five downtown targets, each of which will feature dramatic theatrical visuals and speeches. The marchers are demanding an end to the federal government's handout of 1.4 billion a year to fossil fuel corporations and a transition to a clean just energy economy.
