PR Associates Wins Award for Media Relations Excellence

VANCOUVER, June 17, 2013 /CNW/ - Deena Tokaryk, account manager at PR Associates, has been awarded with a Bronze Quill Award of Excellence in Media Relations from the International Association of Business Communicators British Columbia (IABC/BC). The award recognizes Deena for her work with the Association for Mineral Exploration British Columbia (AME BC), for the development of their media engagement for Mineral Exploration Roundup 2013, their annual conference.

IABC awards recognize excellence in business communication, honouring professionals who demonstrate they have implemented successful communication programs - based on research, measurable objectives, targeted activities that positively impact the company's goals, and evaluation of success. "My clients look to me to help solve a business problem," says Deena. "Whether it's to promote a new project or improve community relations, I help them define what the end goal looks like and the best path to achieving it."

The project that received the award was a strategic media relations program to raise awareness of the importance of the mineral exploration and development industry to British Columbia's economy with the general public, leveraging the association's annual industry conference. Deena's program generated significant media coverage that ensured their message was heard not only by the diverse members of the industry and AME BC, but also by government, First Nations and communities throughout B.C. and beyond."
