TORONTO, Sept. 8, 2014 /CNW/ - Adding to the growing list of influential speakers, Premier Kathleen Wynne will be addressing the upcoming Good Jobs Summit on October 4 at Mattamy Athletic Centre (formerly Maple Leaf Gardens).
The Good Jobs Summit will be hosted by Unifor, the Canadian Federation of Students, the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, Ryerson University, Ryerson's Centre for Labour Management Relations and the Unifor-Sam Gindin Social Justice Chair at Ryerson.

We will continue to invest in people because that's our competitive edge and that's what will grow our economy. The Summit will bring together students, workers, government, employers, unions, policy makers, researchers and non-governmental organizations for a robust discussion on the state of the economy and solutions to creating meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities – particularly for young people. The Summit will take place October 3-5 and is expected to attract more than 1,000 people.
"Government has an essential role to play in putting the necessary programs and tools in place so that all parties can work to great good jobs – business, government and labour," said Unifor National President Jerry Dias. "We're thrilled that Premier Kathleen Wynne recognizes the importance of this project and has agreed to be one of the event's keynote speakers."
The event will feature CNN commentator, green jobs advocate and former advisor to US President Barack Obama, Van Jones; GE President and CEO Elyse Allan; Ryerson University President and Vice Chancellor Sheldon Levy; former Mayor of Toronto and President and CEO of the World Wildlife Federation Canada David Miller; Unifor President Jerry Dias; Unifor Economist Jim Stanford; Globe and Mail columnist and financial expert Preet Banerjee; Canadian Labour Congress President Hassan Yussuff, Canadian Federation of Students chairperson Jessica McCormick and a number speakers.
The Summit will also include a research symposium hosted by Ryerson University on October 3 from 9 am - 12:30 p.m.
