Premier's Statement on the St. Paul's By-election

TORONTO , Sept. 17 /CNW/ - I want to congratulate Dr. Eric Hoskins on his victory in the by-election in St. Paul's.

It takes courage to put your name on a ballot and campaign from door to door. And it also requires unswerving dedication to our democratic traditions and a belief in the value of public service.

Dr. Hoskins exemplifies that spirit. He was an excellent candidate who ran for all the right reasons, and I am certain he will be an equally excellent MPP.

I also want to take this opportunity to congratulate candidates from all the parties in the St. Paul's by-election. I know I speak for all Ontarians when I thank them for all their hard work in the service of our province's democracy.
