TORONTO, June 16, 2015 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Howard Eng's term as President and CEO of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority has been extended from December 31, 2016 to March 31, 2020.
Board Chair David Wilson said, "The extension of Howard's term will ensure continuity of leadership for the organization. Howard has been leading the development of a long term business strategy which is essential to Toronto Pearson's continued success as a global hub."
Mr. Eng assumed the role of President and CEO on March 29, 2012.
"I am proud of the work that the GTAA has done during the last three years," said Howard Eng. "Our 20 year strategic plan and our focus on our passengers will lead the way as we strive to become an even stronger hub. I am honoured to be the President and CEO of the GTAA."
The GTAA is the operator of Toronto Pearson International Airport, handling the most airline passengers and cargo traffic of any Canadian airport. Toronto Pearson is the second busiest airport in terms of international traffic (international and transborder) in North America. In 2014, 38.6 million passengers travelled through Toronto Pearson.
