President Barack Obama to deliver a keynote speech at the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal on June 6 Français
MONTRÉAL, May 10, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - The Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal is pleased to announce that Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States, will be coming to Montréal to deliver a keynote speech on June 6th as part of the Chamber's Bell International Leaders series.
"It is an honour to welcome such a special guest to the Chamber as Montreal celebrates its 375th anniversary," stated Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal. "At a time when the world is seeking more certainty and stability, and as globalization is forcing us to rethink our existing economic and democratic models, we are proud to host someone who has devoted his actions to human rights, free trade agreements, diplomacy, and economic development. He has demonstrated that harmonious relations between nations are a powerful pathway to reinforcing peace, trade, and the development of new markets."
"President Obama is among those who are making history and inspiring youth throughout the world. He keeps us moving forward towards a more equal society based on freedom, hope, and optimism," said Michel Leblanc.
On November 4, 2008, Barack Obama made history when he was elected 44th President of the United States. He took office as America was facing the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. President Obama's leadership and optimism helped rescue the economy, revitalize the American auto industry, reform the health care system to cover another twenty million Americans, and put the country on a firm course to a clean energy future—all while overseeing the longest stretch of job creation in American history.
"I want to thank Bell for being with us since the creation of the International Leaders series. With their support, the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal has built a reputation for receiving great and inspiring speakers such as President Obama," concluded Michel Leblanc.
Over the years, the Chamber has welcomed a number of prestigious speakers in its International Leaders series, such as President Nicolas Sarkozy, Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, Prime Minister Manuel Valls, President Bill Clinton, Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, President Mikhail Gorbachev, Senator Arnold Schwarzenegger, Prime Minister Tony Blair, and President George W. Bush.
This Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal event is organized with the support of Bell, in association with evenko.
More information about the event, as well as registration details, will be available shortly on the Chamber's website at ccmm.ca.
