Press Advisory - Innisfil and Uber to Launch Canada's First Ridesharing-Transit Partnership
INNISFIL, ON, May 12, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - On Monday, May 15, the Town of Innisfil and Uber Canada will formerly launch Canada's first ridesharing-transit partnership. In addition, Barrie Taxi will complement the town's new on-demand system by providing rides in wheelchair accessible vehicles. This partnership will encourage residents to access local transit hubs and get around the community.
WHAT: Innisfil Mayor Gord Wauchope, Uber Ontario Public Policy Manager Chris Schafer and local Uber driver-partner Jeff Wilton will be greeted by Deputy Mayor Lynn Dollin after taking the first official ride on the Uber platform. Upon arrival, they will speak to media on the launch of Canada's first ridesharing-transit partnership.

LOCATION: Innisfil Recreational Complex, 7315 Yonge Street, Innisfil, ON, L9S 1K8
The event will be held outside the north entrance of the building. Should there be poor weather conditions, the event will be relocated inside.
There is visitor parking located in front of the northern entrance.
Travelling from Toronto, visitors can get to the Innisfil Recreational Complex (IRC) by:
- Taking highway 400 north until Innisfil Beach Road
- Head east on Innisfil Beach road until Yonge Street
- Head south on Yonge Street
- After 300 metres, the entrance to the IRC is on the east side of the street
