Documents status of early education and child care across Canada
Investment have increased across Canada, but access to quality preschool still eludes 1 in 2 Canadian youngsters
TORONTO, Nov. 11, 2014 /CNW/ - The 2014 Early Childhood Education Report developed by researchers at the Atkinson Centre at the University of Toronto will be released during a press conference on Wednesday November 12. This is the second report since 2011 documenting how the provinces and territories are supporting early education and care. In 2011, only three provinces received a passing grade on the report. Since then, considerable progress has been made, but gaps remain. While Canada has edged up in international rankings, youngsters in Mexico, Chile and Ireland are more likely to attend preschool than in Canada.
