MAPLE, ON, May 28 /CNW/ - The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Canada will hold a press conference at 4:00 pm on Friday, May 28, 2010 at the Baitul Islam Mosque, 10610 Jane Street, Maple, Ontario. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Canada will provide its official statement regarding the massacre of dozens of Ahmadiyya Muslims earlier today in Lahore, Pakistan. All members of the media are invited to attend.
Earlier today, armed religious terrorists stormed two mosques filled with thousands of worshippers belonging to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community attending the weekly Friday prayer services. Latest reports from news agencies like the BBC state that over 80 worshippers have been killed and scores are seriously wounded. The list of casualties is feared to increase throughout the day.
This incident represents a serious escalation in the continuing official persecution of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Pakistan, a persecution that has been noted and documented by numerous human rights agencies and governments around the world.
