MONTREAL, Sept. 10, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives are invited to a press conference to announce the launch of a new initiative concerning the blogger Raif Badawi.

Raif Badawi's wife, Ensaf Haidar, will participate in the press conference via a live webcast.

Raif Badawi has been imprisoned in Saudi Arabia since June 2012 and charged with apostasy and insulting Islam. Mr. Badawi was sentenced to 1000 lashes as he campaigned for the freedom of conscience and expression in his country. Since 2013, his family was granted political asylum in Quebec.
